Gooseberry Falls State Park is located along Minnesota’s North Shore of Lake Superior and is one of the state’s most iconic and frequently visited parks. Known for its dramatic waterfalls, rocky shoreline, and scenic hiking trails, the park offers easy access to some of the North Shore’s most striking natural features.

The park’s landscape is shaped by the Gooseberry River as it cascades over ancient volcanic rock toward Lake Superior. A series of upper, middle, and lower falls creates powerful displays of rushing water, while basalt cliffs, rocky riverbanks, and boreal forest define the surrounding terrain. Along the lakeshore, wave-worn rocks and expansive views of Lake Superior add to the park’s rugged character.
